While a single license is tied to a specific computer, the floating
(also called concurrent or network) licenses can be shared by all the users that are connected to a network.
For example, a 10 seat license allows 10 computers to run the
program at the same time. The program can be actually installed on any
number of machines, however, only 10 can use the program at the same time.
License Manager
Access to the licenses is controlled by ET License Manager - a software
which runs on the license server and monitors the number of licenses
in use. It will not allow the use of a product on more machines than the
licenses are available. A license that is in use can be released to other
user in several ways or events:
- The current user explicitly releases the license.
- If ArcGIS is closed or crashes.
- The system administrator can revoke the license using ET License
Manager
ET License Manager can serve licenses for ET GeoWizards and ET
GeoTools.
The License Server machine can run on any PC on the network.
The only requirements are:
- It needs to run Windows.
- It needs
to have an open port for TCP communications.
- It should not run a virtual PC software
Purchasing floating licenses.
The price of the floating licenses is the same as for the Single use
licenses (no discount for bulk orders applies). Since this option is designed for large corporate clients we
will not accept orders for less than 10 floating licenses. Customers that
do not need 10 or more license can utilize our fixed licensing option.
Delivery of the floating versions.
A download location for the ET License Manager software and the
concurrent version of ET GeoWizards and/or ET GeoTools will be provided upon
an order received.

Policy for details.
Versions
Each version of our products has sub-versions that support different
ArcGIS versions. A license is valid for all sub-versions of a specific
version. For example if you have purchased a license for ET GeoTools 9.3
and have registered the version for ArcGIS 9.1, once you upgrade to
ArcGIS 9.2, you just need to download from http://www.ian-ko.com
ET GeoTools 9.3 for ArcGIS 9.2, uninstall your current version and
install the new one - the software will automatically find the licensing
information.
