While a single license is tied to a specific computer, the floating licenses can be shared by all the users that are connected to a network.

License Manager

Access to the licenses is controlled by ET License Manager - a software which runs on the license server and monitors the number of  licenses in use. It will not allow the use of a product on more machines than the licenses are available. A license that is in use can be released to other user in several ways or events:

• The current user explicitly releases the license.
• If  ArcGIS is closed or crashes.
• The system administrator can revoke the license using ET License Manager

ET License Manager can serve licenses for ET GeoWizards and ET GeoTools.

The License Server machine can run on any PC on the network. It needs to have an open port for TCP communications. 

Purchasing floating licenses.

The price of the floating licenses is the same as for the Single use licenses. Since this option is designed for large corporate clients we will not accept orders for less than 10 floating licenses. Customers that do not need 10 or more license can utilize our single use licensing options.
