Installation instructions
Note that you have to be logged as an Administrator on the machine
you are installing ET GeoTools
- If you have a previous version of ET GeoTools installed, uninstall it
first.
- Unzip ETGeoToolsXX.zip - the file contains a single executable
- Run ETGeoToolsXX.exe - a simple installation wizard will guide you through
the process.
- The best location to install the files is the hard disk where ArcGIS
resides or your system disk
Files installed:
- ETGeoToolsXX.dll - contains all the functionality of ET GeoTools
- CM_Draw.dll - the tool menu containing the sketch tools
- CM_GDS.dll - the tool menu containing the generalize, densify and smooth
tools
- CM_Split.dll - the tool menu containing the polyline split tools
- CM_Select.dll - the tool menu containing the selection tools
- ET GeoTools.chm - ET GeoTools User Guide
- license1.txt - the license agreement
- readme.txt - read me file
- reg_ETGeoTools.exe - executable that registers all the components of ET
GeoTools.
If you restart ArcMap the ET GeoTools, ET Attributes and ET Gogo toolbars should be already loaded. Go to
View ==> Toolbars and select the toolbar you want to use.
If the toolbars are not available follow the procedure below:
In ArcMap
- Click the Tools menu and click Customize (right click on any tool bar will
do the same)
- Click the toolbars tab of the Customize dialog
- Click the Add From File button
- Navigate to the folder where ETGeoToolsXX.dll is located, select it and
click open
- In the added objects dialog box click OK
- In the list of toolbars check ET GeoTools, ET Attributes and ET Cogo
Note:
ET GeoTools runs in DEMO mode until registered.
- The Demo mode has the following limitations
- Some of the features are free - do not have any restrictions with the
DEMO version. See ET GeoTools - free tools for a list
- The rest of the functions have restriction of 100 features in the
target layer
