Measure Points
(Go to the main page of the function)

Uses a reference PolylineM(Z) dataset  to assign measure attributes to the points from a point dataset. Allows transfer of any additional attributes. The M/Z value is interpolated from the closest polyline within the user specified search tolerance

Command line syntax

ET_GPMeasurePoints <input_dataset> <Reference_dataset> <out_feature class> <search_tolerance> {calc_spatial_reference}

Parameters

Expression Explanation
<input_dataset> A Point feature class or feature layer
<Reference_dataset> A PolylineM or PolylineZ feature class or feature layer
<out_feature class> A String - the full name of the output feature class (A feature class with the same full name should not exist)
<search_tolerance> A Double representing  the Search tolerance (in the units of the calc_spatial_reference) to be used
{calc_spatial_reference} The spatial reference in which the calculations will be performed. If not specified the spatial reference of the input dataset will be used.
NOTE: The spatial references of the <input_dataset>, <Reference_dataset> and {calc_spatial_reference} must have the same Geographic Coordinate System

Scripting syntax

ET_GPMeasurePoints (input_dataset, Reference_dataset, out_feature class, search_tolerance, calc_spatial_reference)
