ET GeoWizards Toolbox
Point Angle And Position
(Go to the main page of the
function)
Identifies the closest polyline from the reference dataset to each point and calculates: the angle of the closest polyline segment, the position & stationing of the point along the polyline and the distance to the polyline
Command line syntax
ET_GPPointAngleAndPosition <input_dataset> <Reference_dataset> <out_feature class> <search_tolerance> {calc_spatial_reference}
Parameters
Expression | Explanation |
---|---|
<input_dataset> | A Point feature class or feature layer |
<Reference_dataset> | A Polyline feature class or feature layer |
<out_feature class> | A String - the full name of the output feature class (A feature class with the same full name should not exist) |
<search_tolerance> | A Double representing the Search tolerance (in the units of the calc_spatial_reference) to be used |
{calc_spatial_reference} | The
spatial reference in which the calculations will be performed. If not
specified the spatial reference of the input dataset will be used. NOTE: The spatial references of the <input_dataset>, <Reference_dataset> and {calc_spatial_reference} must have the same Geographic Coordinate System |
Scripting syntax
ET_GPPointAngleAndPosition (input_dataset, Reference_dataset, out_feature class, search_tolerance, calc_spatial_reference)
